Chapter four

Title: Excervous
Chapter: 4

Everyone was standing awkwardly in the tiny hospital room, looking at eachother. Probably thinking, someone tell Skyler what the hell is on her neck.
Sarah pulled out her phone and took a picture of my neck, then proceeded to show me. I wish I didn’t see. The water works were coming down again and I wish everybody wasn’t in here to watch my blubber. Who gives a shit anymore? The man in black put a pen-ink stamp on my neck while I was out cold. It was a drawing of Molly and the date of her death.

I got up the courage to talk and asked everybody to get out, except the three of my bestfriends.
“What the hell is this?” I nodded to the phone. Wanting to know whats going on.
“We don’t know. It’s on your neck, but it’s washable. So, yeah..” Hannah replied, not knowing to what to say.
I titled my neck back and looked at the ceiling.
“This isn’t Molly doing this. Molly is, you know, gone.” I stated. It burnt my heart to say her name. I proceeded to let tears fall over the dam in my heart and let all my feelings come crashing down. They all sat on the bed, and hugged me. I had to stop crying before someone could ask whats going on.
I wiped my tears and tried smile. More like a weak smirk..

I went home with a sprained wrist and boy, was it hard to do homework with your left hand. Leftys are true veterans.
I sighed and pushed my homework aside and turned on the news. To not my suprise, Molly’s face was plastered all over the news. They had no idea who killed my bestfriend. I quickly turned off the tv, trying not to start a full eighteen hours with tears.

I remember the day all the girls, including Molly, came over and made friendship keychains to put on our bags. They all said our names and had the same look and texture. Meaning in our friendship, no one is more important than another. In our friendship, no one will be singled out or forgotten.. We made those keychains freshmen year and we’ve had them ever since.
I finally managed to finish my homework with the scribbles of my left hand, hoping the teacher could understand my issue.
I walked into my room, shut the door and layed on my bed. Closing my eyes as I flash back to the days when Molly was still walking this earth.

I couldn’t stop thinking about Skyler and her incident.. it was like the man in black knew our situation. A chill ran down my spine and my phone went off. A text message, probably from Skye, I thought.
Your friends and you are in for a real ride. -o” The text said. I closed my phone and looked around. Whoever this “o” person is, they’re gonna get a hard slap in the face and good verbal punishment. I called the girls. It was urgent.

“Sarah, Hannah. Where’s Skyler?” I asked, talking into the contraption that this sicko knew how to contact. I didn’t feel safe.
“She didn’t pick up. I’m sure she’s asleep.” Hannah replied anxiously. Wanting to make sure everyone is okay. I didn’t blame her.
“Guys, I got a text from O.” I choked out. Frightened at the thought that he could be in my house. But, pushed aside that thought. He won’t defeat me in my home.
“What did it say, Chan?” Sarah questioned, sounding as frightened as I felt.
“Your friends and you are in for a real ride.” I read off my phone. Waiting for a response from the girls that were almost everything to me.
“Uh– wow. Should we tell the police? This person is taking this out of hand.” Sarah exclaimed. I shuttered, feeling helpless.
“No. We can’t, Sarah. Chandler, delete the message. If we ignore him or her, they’ll leave us alone.” She demanded, “it’s probably someone from school. But, we will not tell.”
I nodded and said okay. Mental note: don’t tell anyone.

We hung up and I layed down on the couch. Ready to escape from this world for another 18 hours. As I was about to close my eyes, I heard movement from my room. My parents were asleep and their room wasn’t close to mine at all.
I grabbed my cell phone and a frying pan out of the kitchen. I walked to my room, as quietly as possible to see lipstick all over my mirror. I turned on the light and read the mirror.
“It won’t be that easy, bitches. -o” I dropped the pan and covered my mouth, just incase I scream. I took a picture of the mirror and sent it to Skyler, Hannah and Sarah. I didn’t sleep that night, I’m sure none of them did either.

What do you think of the story so far? I didn’t give you a cliff hanger this time, but I’m pretty sure some freaky stuff will happen in chapter five! πŸ™‚

3. Penny - August 6, 2010

And when I thought the story was already amazing good and evident of your writing talent, I was mistaken ;).. Every chapter just builds up suspence and continues to get better and better. Im gonna be estatic and nuts for Chapter5 when it comes out.. Adding Chandler`s point of view to your story, brought it 2 a whole new level of amazingness if that was posible xD.. I love how each chapter ends w/ a picture- do you also make those?

Layla - August 6, 2010
