Chapter five

Title: Excervous
Chapter: 5

My alarm went off. It was 7:00 already?
I had kept my eye lids open all night and had bags. Bags of exhaustion. Bags of horror.
“Great, it’s raining.” I yawned, looking out the window. “Perfect for my mood today.”

I sluggishly got out of bed to get dressed and make myself poptarts. Then, proceeded to grab my poptarts and head to my car. Was I ready for what today would bring me? No, I wasn’t.
I put my car in park and got out, to see Skyler and Chandler waiting in our usual spot since freshmen year. I quickly sped walked over to them. They looked horrible.
“Hey, guys.” I said, mixed in with a violent yawn.
“Where’s Hannah?” Chandler asked, trying to wake herself up.
We looked around, worried. The day all of this horrible, crazy stuff happened, we promised eachother that we would never be alone at home, anywhere. Someone would have to be with us. Being alone in times like these were not safe. It was dangerous.

“Could Skyler Williams, Chandler Tate and Sarah Frezno please report to the principals office?” The intercom yelped. We all felt shivers down our spine and held hands as we walked to what we thought would be a terrible conversation.

“Hi, girls.” The principal said, trying to cheer up the mood that was obviously coming upon us. Terror.
We replied back with hello and waited for what we thought was bad news. The detective walked in, with his long rain coat and his fancy pants. He had a stern, intimidating look on his face. I heard Skyler gulp. Scaredy cat.

“Girls, Hannah is missing.” The detective said, revealing no emotion on his face. Only, waiting for emotion on our faces to write in his little book of shit. Did none of this matter to him? Only solving a case mattered to him.
We covered our mouths in awe and took out our cell phones to do an obvious thing. Call her.
Since we couldn’t all call her at once, I was nominate to do it. No answer.
Tears rolled down my cheeks and anger bubbled in my throat. Whoever was playing this trick had gone too far.

“I talked her mom this morning,” he said, reading from his little notepad of shit. “and she said she said goodbye to her and like any normal school day, she got in her car and drove to school. But, she didn’t arrive.” He said sternly, looking at us.
“Well, what are you looking at us for? We don’t know anything. If she was here, she would be with us.” Skyler spoke up and called out to the man. I never knew Skyler could be so..so.. hardcore.
He closed his booklet and looked at us, again. “Well, if you girls hear anything from Hannah. Come and get me. And that’s an order.” He demanded, pointing his little pad at us. What an ass.

We all looked at eachother and was forced to proceed to class, without our bestfriend.

My phone rang, saying text message. Thinking it was Hannah, I called Skyler and Chan over. But, only to be revealed that it was from Hannah. We read it outloud..
“Looking forward to visiting with Hannah this morning. -o” We all looked at eachother. We were all speechless.
I quickly deleted the message and tried to get my heart to start beating again. Then, another text came in.
“Also, when’s the memorial coming around? -o” I read the text and put my head on the desk, trying not to let tears fall over. This person is enjoying this too much.
I raised my hand and asked to go to the restroom.

I looked at myself in the mirror and wiped my tears. Then, the lights go out and an earthquake shook the ground.
I fell to floor and crawled into a stall, and began to cry of terror. Then, everything was still. No movements, no sounds.

The bathroom door opens and someone walks into the stall next to mine. I hold my breath and pull my feet up on the toilet, trying not to make a sound. They stood for a few minutes then proceeded out of the bathroom.
I quickly get out of my stall to the one the person was in.
“Molly was here on Thursday, September 4th.” The wall of the stall door said. I covered my mouth so I wouldn’t scream.
But, wait. September fourth isΒ  tomorrow. September fourth is Chandler’s birthday.
I run out of the stall and trip over my shoe lace.
“Ch- chandler, don’t come to–” Then, black.

The lights were out and everybody was holding their breath, hoping the earthquake was over. Atleast I can say I’ve been in an earthquake now.

“Pst, Chandler, “I whispered, trying not to attract to much attention, “where’s Sarah?”
Chandler raised her hand and a teacher walked towards her.
“Mrs. Jennings, where is Sarah?” Chandler asked, hoping she’s safe.
“There’s a teacher with her in the bathroom. She fell and is unconscious.” Mrs. Jennings replied, her face looking concerned. I’m glad she cared, most teachers don’t.

The lights flickered back on and everybody was sent home early. Thank goodness.
Chandler and I ran to the nurses office to see Sarah. She was laying on the bed with a cold ice pack on her head, awake.
“Hey, guys. I gotta talk to you.” Sarah demanded. She looked scared, almost frightened.
We gathered around her as she told us about the man in the womans bathroom and what he wrote on the wall.
“September fourth is my birthday. But, Molly can’t come back. She’s–.. gone.” Chandler replied, looking to the floor. I flinched. It’s true, Molly is gone.

Nobody had anything to say after that except that we needed to figure out where Hannah is. Sarah’s mom called her. I could hear her mom making sure she was okay and then, her voice turned to a light whisper and I could no longer understand her. Oh golly..

Sarah closed her phone and ran towards us.
“Guys, they found Hannah!” Sarah almost yelled, her smile bigger than usual.
We all smiled and hugged eachother. Then proceeded to drive towards Hannah’s house, ready to reunite with our bestfriend.

We arrived at her house, parking in the street and ran into the house looking for her. She was on the couch, looking pale and tired. We sat around her and hugged her to death, and told her we were glad she was okay. She smiled, thanking us for coming.

“Hannah, who took you?” I asked. Wanting to kick somebodys ass right about now.
“Well, nobody actually ‘took’ me. I got in a crash and blacked out. When I woke up, I was in an ambulance with writing written on my hand. Something about how Molly is coming back on Chandler’s birthday.” She replied, looking at Chandler.
Chandler looked awkward and scared.

“Okay, here’s the plan. Chandler will not be left alone tomorrow, at all. Understand, guys? We won’t let anything happen to any of us.” I told everyone. Trying to be strong for once in my life.
They all nodded and looked suprised at my tone. I felt like I was a terminator, ready to destroy any danger in site.

We all decided to spend the night at Hannah’s house and do homework all together. Everyone went home, changed and got their books and items needed for a sleepover.

After we finished doing our homework, we watched Pretty Little Liar reruns and talked about anything but what was going on now. Then, out of nowhere, the ground began to shake and things started to drop onto the floor, breaking into a million pieces. Hannah’s parents ran downstairs and took us to the first floor bathroom. There were booms of large things falling and crashing. We all began to hug eachother and tell eachother it was gonna be over soon.

The lights went black and the walls began to crack and collapse.

Chapter five and a half coming later today. What do you think of chapter five so far, guys? Tehe!
